Since this global pandemic started, schools have been forced to make a digital transformation in order to adapt to this ever-changing world.
At least for the near future, distance learning has become the new norm for education. But this doesn’t come without any caveats. Studies have shown that between January and May 2020, 20% of all educational devices have gone dark or were not online – Schools have had an average of 30 devices gone missing in the last nine months.
Furthermore, student devices have been targeted by ransomware attackers, locking students out of their computers, and demanding payments in order to unlock them.
This year, school budgets are becoming tighter as they have been facing increasing costs due to distance learning, an average of $500 per student, and that’s without including cybersecurity expenses.
